FICKLE shoppers will switch from their usual supermarket to save as little as £5, it was claimed today.
Fierce competition among the so-called “big four” grocery giants has eroded brand and chain loyalty, industry figures said.


New research has found around seven out of 10 consumers will scour the internet in search of vouchers to cut the cost of their weekly shop. While one in 10 will ditch their favourite food store if handed a £5 coupon to take their custom elsewhere.

An Old Bailey judge has called for new regulation on traditional Chinese medicines as a "doctor" who sold cancer-causing pills walked free from court.

Ying "Susan" Wu sold the tiny brown "Xie Gan Wan" tablets to Patricia Booth for more than five years from a shop in Chelmsford, Essex.

Mrs Booth, 58, began taking the pills three times a day to treat a skin condition but they ended up destroying her kidneys and giving her cancer.

WASHINGTON: Chronic conditions including asthma, obesity and behaviour disorders have become more common among US children in recent years, with environmental changes and more diagnoses partly to blame, a study published yesterday shows.

Researchers led by Jeanne Van Cleave, a doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children in Boston, looked at the prevalence of conditions that lasted a year or longer in three groups of children, starting with a first cohort of more than 2,000 kids in 1988.

SHOPPING malls are full of people during this festive period. Even those who do not celebrate Chinese New Year are flooding the malls because of the sales.

But have you ever wondered whether these are real or scams?

I have some shopping stories to share. One was in a mall where the shops were decorated with attractive signs to woo shoppers. Another was decorated with a big sign saying “All stock 50% off on second item”. The strategy seemed to work as the shop was crowded.
