BEIJING (April 1, 2009): Health officials gathered in Beijing yesterday warned against deadly drug-resistant strains of tuberculosis, which are spreading fastest in developing countries that lack the infrastructure to tackle the disease. Over half of new cases of tuberculosis are resistant to multiple drugs right from the start, and not as a direct result of substandard treatment, the head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) warned. |

Friday March 20, 2009  BUKIT GANTANG: Dengue cases and deaths increased significantly in the first three months of the year compared with the same period last year due to the rainy spell.
Thirty-three people out of 12,179 cases have died from Jan 1 to March 16. There were 8,212 cases with 14 deaths in the period last year. |
